Policies, Terms, and Conditions

 

❯ REGISTRATION INFORMATION We respectfully request that all program registrations be completed online, as registrations will not be accepted via telephone. Please create your member account and submit your registration and payment through our official Club Website: www.flamboroskatingclub.com It is the responsibility of the parent or guardian to ensure that all pertinent emergency information—including medical conditions and special needs—is accurately disclosed during the registration process. Additionally, we encourage parents to communicate directly with the session Convener on the first day of classes.
❯PRIVACY POLICY The Flamboro Skating Club collects and securely stores personal information about your family to ensure the best possible care and service for your child. This data is processed in a secure database with restricted access and is used for registration, program development, and statistical analysis. We do not sell or rent any personal information. Information is shared only with those directly involved in providing services to your child or as required by law. All forms are securely destroyed at the end of each season. Photographs and videos may be taken by the Club and local media for instructional purposes, program promotion, special events, social media, and to highlight skater achievements. We retain contact information to communicate relevant updates and opportunities to you.
Arrival and Departure Guidelines It is mandatory for parents or guardians aged 18 and over to remain within the designated rink area throughout the entirety of their child’s skating lessons. Non-compliance may lead to the removal of the participant from the program. For optimal viewing, parents are encouraged to use the stands. Please be advised that observing lessons from the dressing room side of the ice or from the players’ benches is strictly prohibited.
❯ REFUND POLICY Medical Refunds - Skaters are eligible for a refund due to medical reasons. Skaters must submit a Medical Certificate from a physician and letter from the parent(s) detailing the reasons for the refund to flamboroskateclub@gmail.com. The request will be reviewed and is subject to approval by the Board of Directors.  Reimbursement will be pro-rated. The Skate Canada is non-refundable. A $25 Administration fee may apply. General Refunds - Refunds for non-medical reasons are available to skaters registered in PreCanSkate, CanSkate, PreCanPowerSkate and Teen/Adult if withdrawal occurs prior to the third class in the session. A letter from the parent(s) detailing the reason for the refund must be submitted to the club administrator at flamboroskateclub@gmail.com.  For all other levels, refunds will not be provided for skaters who withdraw from the program. However, the Board of Directors may consider exceptions on a case-by-case basis. All refunds will be pro-rated. A $25 Administration fee may apply. The Skate Canada fee is non-refundable.
❯ PAYMENTS Full payment by credit card is required at time of registration for Learn To Skate Programs. STARSkate may pay in installments. (MasterCard and Visa Accepted) All prices and invoices are in Canadian dollars ($CDN). All Club programs and services offered by the Flamboro Skating Club are delivered in Flamborough, Ontario, Canada.
MISSED CLASSES Participants are to attend all classes as scheduled for the program in which they are registered. In the event that a participant is unable to attend a scheduled class(es), make-up classes, refunds, or credits for the missed class(es) will not be provided.
❯INCLEMENT WEATHER Flamboro Skating Club programs will only be cancelled if the City of Hamilton closes arenas.  Please check City of Hamilton www.hamilton.ca for closures. Missed classes due to arena closure are not refunded or made up.
 HELMET & EQUIPMENT POLICY All skaters in every program must provide and wear their own skates and CSA-approved hockey helmets specifically designed for skating. Helmets must be properly fitted and in good condition. Bicycle, ski, or other non-approved helmets are not permitted. For Start to Skate and Pre-CanSkate programs, helmets must include a full face cage. In CanSkate and Teen/Adult programs, a CSA-approved hockey helmet is mandatory, but face cages are not required. Please note that all Skate Canada member clubs require participants up to and including Stage 5 to wear CSA-approved hockey helmets on the ice. Helmets and skates are not available for rent during our programs.
